Why is early detection for autism important?
Early detection of autism can lead to your child receiving helpful interventions or support earlier, which often leads to better long term outcomes. There is a large body of research to suggest that monitoring a young child’s social-communication development is a successful and effective way to identify children who are developing autism. Research suggests that there are a number of very specific social-communication markers of autism that are present before the age of 3 years. ASDetect measures these ‘red flags’ by identifying any milestones that your child has not yet reached that might be suggestive of autism. The ASDetect Assessment Results email then provides a summary of these behaviours, and your next steps.
